Mission

Our mission is the continued maintenance and development in Central Pennsylvania, within the limits of our resources and capabilities, of the conversion of abandoned railroad corridors into non-motorized trails for public recreation and to preserve the heritage and historical significance within the boundaries of all Central Pennsylvania Trails.

Strategies to Achieve our Goals:

 

q       Expand Trail Network

-   Extend existing trail to Canal Basin Park in Hollidaysburg

-   Partner or consolidate with the Bells Gap and Logan Valley Electric Line group

-   Expand eastward

 

q       Restructure organization to increase efficiency

-   Create an Executive Committee

-   Incorporate Bell Gap trail group

-   Create a plan to more effectively utilize volunteers

-   Establish working committees

-   Make strategic board appointments

 

q       Maintain Financial Stability

-   Run a successful capital campaign

-   Create an endowment

-   Seek funds from bequests

-   Obtain grant funding

-   Transfer trail ownership

-   Transfer trail maintenance

-   Implement “Memorial/Recognition” Board policy

-   Create and comply with yearly organizational budget

-   Obtain in-kind support
