The Lower Trail - AUTUMN Photo Tour

AUTUMN is a great time to visit the Lower Trail. The temperatures generally range between the mid-40's to the low 70's. In the autumn, some wild flowers are still in bloom, bushes have bright colored berries that are havested by birds and other wildlife. And the leaves are various shades of yellow, orange, and red.
These photos were taken on three different trips, in an attempt to catch the fall colors in various stages of color, and the foliage in various stages of density.
Enjoy the autumn colors and fragrance by taking a leisurely walk, jogging, or riding a bike or a horse. If you'd like to ride a bike, but don't have one with you, bikes may be rented at "Past To Present" snack shop (specializing in homemade ice cream) just a block from the Williamsburg trailhead.
Photos for the AUTUMN Tour were taken on October 6th, 10th, and 22nd. Mid to late October is generally the height of the colored leaves, although it varies depending upon rainfall and temperature.
