About Rails To Trails
Rails To Trails of Central PA is a not-for-profit, charitable organization as qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Rails To Trails CPA operates through a committed Board of Directors and membership, all of whom volunteer their time and labor on projects such as building trail amenities, fund raising, trail maintenance, and public education on trail related issues.
The primary function of Rails To Trails CPA is to convert abandoned railroad corridors into recreational and educational trails for use by the public.

Our Mission:
- To continue maintenance and development of our existing trails;
- To convert additional abandoned railroad corridors into non-motorized trails for pubic recreation and education;
- To preserve the heritage and historical significance within the boundaries of all Central Pennsylvania Rail Trails;
- To accomplish these within the limits of our resources and capabilities.

Our Goals:
1. Expand trail network
2. Restructure organization to increase efficiency
3. Maintain financial stability
4. Increase public awareness
5. Improve trail infrastructure
6. Encourage economic development in trail communities
7. Conduct historical preservation
8. Contribute to excellent environmental quality
9. Engage in educational partnerships

Rails To Trails of Central PA is associated with the Rails To Trails Conservancy, a national organization that advises and promotes development of abandoned railroad beds and canal towpaths for public recreational, educational, and historical purposes.  Learn more about this organization by visiting www.railtrails.org

Rails To Trails of Central PA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and 11 other board members.
About Rails To Trails
Following the July 2006 Board Meeting, Board Members took a bike tour of the trail to inspect the property and amenities, and to enjoy the trail.
